BIOGRAPHY

Chiara Armentano is an award-winning Italian editor based in London.
Chiara has recently worked as Associate Editor on the feature drama BIRD directed by Andrea Arnold, working close to Joe Bini. She is currently editing a feature documentary based on Stanley Kubrick’s FULL METAL JACKET, directed by Stephen Riggs and produced by Hank Starrs, Matthew Modine and Adam Rackoff.
Chiara has previously worked on a variety of content, from music videos – including Fontaines D.C. BUG, and Sleaford Mod’s NO TOUCH, both directed by Andrea Arnold – to short films, feature dramas and documentaries.
Her debut as a film editor was on Phillip Warnell’s documentary feature Ming of Harlem: 21 Storeys in the Air . The recipient of the Award Prix Georges De Beauregard at FID Marseille, the film travelled the festival circuit widely (including the New York Film Festival, IDFA, CPH:DOX, and VIFF Vancouver). Other work worth mentioning are the short documentary The Scarecrows, directed by Dan Hodgson, nominated for a Grierson Award in 2021, and RAY, a video-art narrative drama directed by Turner prize winner Richard Billingham.
With a background as a film theory academic, Chiara trained as a practitioner at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and The Edit Center in New York City.
She was one of the Berlinale Talents at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival, during which she was also selected for the Editing Lab supervised by Lars Von Trier’s editor Molly Malene Stensgaard.
Chiara has been a member of BAFTA CREW/CONNECT for the years 2019-2023. She is also full associate member of BFE (British Film Editor).
