KAKASHI – THE SCARECROWS

Title: KAKASHI – THE SCARECROWS

Obon, or simply Bon, is the most important celebration for Japanese people. This national holiday celebrates the dead and it is believed that their souls come back to Earth during the celebration. In a small village called Nagoro, in the Osaka province, Obon brings back families together to celebrate their own ancestors. But the village is very peculiar: only 27 people live there, while everyone left during these last decades. Although people had gone, a woman started to make human-size dolls which resemble the people that had left. The result is a small gem in the middle of nowhere where gorgeous dolls replace human beings.
